MT WARNING MORNING
The early bird gets the worm: The early adventurer gets the best views!
This tour starts in the dark, the early hours of the morning. We promise you will not be left in the dark as we drive through the scenic Tweed Range in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
Mount Warning or Wollumbin ('cloud catcher' in the native tongue of the Bundjalung people) was given its name by Captain James Cook as a warning to future ocean navigators, he also gave a name to a section of coastline you look down over called point danger, this story will be explained in more depth through out our hike to the top.
After a 4.4 km hike up to the heavens you will be standing on top of the remains of the Tweed Volcano with the most amazing 360 degree view of the Byron coastline, the Gold Coast and its hinterland. Stunning doesn't even begin to describe the panoramic views from over 11 hundred meters above sea level.
We know the only thing that will make the view better is with a nice warm complimentary Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate that will served once the summit has been conquered.
We will then descend back into the sub tropical forest to the car before making the sleepy commute back to your pick up location.
The whole hike will be with a local guide who will be there to support you and assist with carrying belongings if they get too heavy. This hike is tough and can take a few hours depending on fitness level. we do not consent anyone with a pre-existing injury to take part of this tour.
